🔪 Book Sacrifice Tag 🔪

    Hello dear followers! How's your week going? Ours seems to have no end in sight 😵. So, to simplify things, we've decided to bring back from the past a very old tag that was originally on Ariel Bisset's channel, but unfortunately we couldn't find the video on her channel and ended up using the questions on this site.

    Ready to get started? 

An Over-Hyped book: Let's start this off with a Zombie Apocalypse! Let's say you're in a book store, just browsing, when BAM! ZOMBIE ATTACK. An announcement comes over the PA System saying that the military has discovered that the zombies' only weakness is over-hyped books. What book that everyone else says is amazing but you really hated, do you start chucking at the zombies knowing that it will count as an over-hyped book and successfully wipe them out?!

    We're going to have to choose Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. After reading and enjoying Fangirl, our expectations were so high and it was a disappointment. We'd heard such good things about the book, but it fell flat for us. Oh well, it wasn't meant to be! 😅🤭

A Sequel: Let's say you've just left the salon with a SMASHING new haircut and BOOM: Torrential downpour. What sequel are you willing to use as an umbrella to protect yourself?

    This is going to be a real pain, but it'll have to be Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Sorry J.K. Rowling! We love the whole saga, but this book is best being ignored. We can't believe that the author was actually involved in the process because we've had 7 marvellous books... No, no, no. It will have to be sacrificed! ❌

A Classic: Let's say you're in a lecture and your English teacher is going on and on about how this classic changed the world, how it revolutionized literature and you get so sick of it that you chuck the classic right at his face because you know what? This classic is stupid and it's worth detention just to show everyone how you feel! What Classic did you chuck?

    At last! Revenge for the suffering we went through with some classics at school! For us it would be José Saramago's Baltasar and Blimunda. Imagine a book with no punctuation, no paragraphs, no structure, nothing... remember all those things that if you do when writing a text you lose points in the eyes of the teacher? Well, Mr Saramago does all that and still wins prizes and is a genius. Ouch! Sometimes literature is complicated...

Your least favourite book of life!: Let's say that you're hanging out at the library when BAM global warming explodes and the world outside becomes a frozen wasteland. You're trapped and your only chance for survival is to burn a book. What is the book you first run to, your least favourite book of all life, what book do you not fully regret lighting?

    The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin. Truth be told, it's probably us who are too stupid to realise the genius of the book 🤷🏻‍♀️, because Ursula Le Guin is one of the most renowned authors, but this is the book we've liked the least in recent years.

    Olá queridos seguidores! Como está a correr a vossa semana? A nossa parece não ter fim à vista 😵. Por isso, para simplificar as coisas, resolvemos trazer do passado uma tag bem antiguinha que era originalmente do canal da Ariel Bisset, mas infelizmente não conseguimos encontrar o vídeo no canal dela e acabamos a usar as perguntas deste site.

    Prontos para começar?

Um livro com demasiada hype: Vamos começar com um Apocalipse Zombie! Digamos que estão numa livraria, apenas a folhear, quando BAM! ATAQUE DE ZOMBIES. O sistema de som anuncia que os militares descobriram que a única fraqueza dos zombies são os livros com demasiado hype. Qual é o livro que toda a gente diz que é fantástico, mas que detestam mesmo, e que começam a atirar aos zombies, sabendo que vai contar como um livro com hype a mais e que os vão eliminar com sucesso?

    Vamos ter de escolher Carry On da Rainbow Rowell. Depois de ler e gostar do Fangirl, as expectativas estavam tão altas e foi uma desilusão. Tinhamos ouvido opiniões tão boas sobre o livros, mas foi ao lado para nós. Paciência, não estava destinado! 😅🤭

Uma sequela: Digamos que acabaram de sair do cabeleireiro com um novo corte de cabelo INCRÍVEL e BOOM: Chuva torrencial. Que sequela estão dispostos a usar como guarda-chuva para se protegerem?

    Isto vai ser uma dor muito grande, mas terá de ser Harry Potter e a Criança Amaldiçoada. Desculpa J. K. Rowling! Adoramos a saga toda, mas este livro é melhor ser ignorado. Não conseguimos acreditar que a autora esteve muito envolvida no processo, porque tivemos 7 livros maravilhosos... Não, não, não. Terá de ser sacrificado! ❌

Um clássico: Digamos que estão numa aula e o vosso professor de inglês não para de dizer como este clássico mudou o mundo, como revolucionou a literatura e vocês ficam tão fartos que lhe atiram o clássico à cara, porque sabem que mais? Este clássico é estúpido e vale a pena ficar de castigo só para mostrarem a toda a gente como se sentem! Que clássico atiraram?

    Finalmente! Vingança pelo sofrimento que passamos com alguns clássicos na escola! Para nós seria o Memorial do Convento do José Saramago. Imaginem um livro sem pontuação, sem parágrafo, sem estrutura, sem nada... lembram-se de todas aquelas coisas que se fizermos ao escrever um texto nos fazem perder pontos aos olhos do professor? Então, o senhor Saramago faz isso tudo e ainda ganha prémios e é genial. Ai ai! Às vezes a literatura é complicada...

O vosso livro menos favorito de toda a vida! Digamos que estão na biblioteca quando BAM o aquecimento global explode e o mundo lá fora se transforma num deserto gelado. Estão presos e a vossa única hipótese de sobrevivência é queimar um livro. Qual é o livro para o qual correram primeiro, o vosso livro menos favorito de toda a vida, qual é o livro que não se arrependem totalmente de ter acendido?

    Os Despojados de Ursula K. Le Guin. Verdade seja dita, provavelmente somos nós que somos demasiado toscos para perceber o génio do livro 🤷🏻‍♀️, porque a Ursula Le Guin é das autoras mais conceituadas, mas foi este o livro que menos gostamos nos últimos anos mesmo.
