August TBR

Hi everyone! How are you doing? 💛

July turned out to be such a special reading month. We finished The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas, a book that left us completely heartbroken (in the best possible way 😭), and we also returned to Cousins Beach with The Summer I Turned Pretty, the perfect story to accompany those warm summer days.

But... not everything went exactly according to plan.

Like many readers, we started a few books that slowly found their place in our daily routines, but we simply didn't manage to finish them before the month ended. Instead of leaving them behind, we're bringing them with us into August.

So, this month's TBR, is a mix of ongoing reads, books rolling over from July, and a few new adventures that we're incredibly excited to dive into.

📖 Currently Reading

     🔥 Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins (André)

André is continuing his journey through Panem and, honestly, after the first book, his expectations couldn't be higher.

     🌅 Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins (Bia)

I've completely fallen in love with Haymitch's perspective, and this book has been emotionally devastating in the very best way.

     🧪 The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood (buddy read)

We've already started this one together and we're having so much fun. The humour, the chemistry between the characters, and the academic setting are everything we hoped they'd be. Hopefully, we'll finish it early this month!

     🏒 The Mistake by Elle Kennedy

This one ended up staying on our shelf last month, but it's still one of the books we're most excited to read. After loving The Deal, we can't wait to return to the Off-Campus universe.

🌟 New Reads for August

     🔥 Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas

After the emotional rollercoaster that was The Assassin's Blade, we're more than ready to continue this journey. Or maybe we're not...

We have a feeling this will be one of those books that completely changes the direction of the series, and we honestly can't wait to find out what's next.

     🌊 Beach Read by Emily Henry

August simply calls for a summer romance. Emily Henry has already earned a place among our favourite authors of 2026, so we couldn't resist picking up another one of her books. It feels like the perfect read to balance all the fantasy, action, and heartbreak we'll be experiencing this month.

     🐎 Off to the Races by Elsie Silver

We've heard nothing but amazing things about Elsie Silver, and this feels like the perfect opportunity to finally discover her world of romance... and plenty of cowboys.

We have a feeling we're going to love this one.

💛 Our Goals for August

More than checking every book off our list, we simply want to enjoy each story we pick up. If we manage to finish everything, amazing!

If a book rolls over into the next month... that's perfectly okay too.

At the end of the day, reading is about enjoying the journey and discovering different stories.

Olá, pessoal! Como estão? 💛

Julho foi um mês de leituras muito especiais. Conseguimos terminar A Lâmina da Assassina da Sarah J. Maas, uma leitura que nos deixou completamente devastados (no melhor sentido possível 😭), e também regressámos a Cousins Beach com O Verão em que me Apaixonei, uma história perfeita para acompanhar os dias mais quentes de verão.

Mas... nem tudo correu exatamente como planeado.

Tal como acontece com muitos leitores, houve livros que começaram a ganhar o seu espaço nas nossas rotinas, mas que ainda não conseguimos terminar. Em vez de os deixar para trás, decidimos levá-los connosco para agosto.

Por isso, a nossa TBR deste mês, mistura leituras em andamento, livros que transitaram do mês anterior e algumas novidades pelas quais estamos muito entusiasmados.

📖 Leituras em andamento

     🔥 Em Chamas da Suzanne Collins (André)

O André continua a sua viagem por Panem e, sinceramente, depois do primeiro livro, as expectativas estão bastante altas.

     🌅 Amanhecer na Ceifa da Suzanne Collins (Bia)

Estou completamente rendida à perspectiva do Haymitch e esta leitura tem sido emocionalmente devastadora.

     🧪 A Hipótese do Amor da Ali Hazelwood (leitura conjunta)

Já começámos esta leitura e estamos a divertir-nos imenso. O humor, a química entre as personagens e o ambiente académico estão exatamente à altura daquilo que esperávamos. Esperamos conseguir terminá-lo logo no início de agosto.

📚 Livros que transitam de julho

     🏒 O Erro da Elle Kennedy

Este acabou por ficar para trás no mês passado, mas continua a ser uma das leituras que mais queremos fazer. Depois de O Acordo, estamos muito curiosos para regressar ao universo de Off-Campus.

🌟 Novas leituras de agosto

     🔥Herdeira do Fogo da Sarah J. Maas

Depois do impacto emocional de A Lâmina da Assassina, estamos mais do que preparados para continuar esta aventura. Ou talvez não estejamos...

Temos a sensação de que este será um daqueles livros que muda completamente o rumo da saga e mal podemos esperar para descobrir o que vem aí.

     🌊 Romance de Verão da Emily Henry

Agosto também pede um romance de verão. A Emily Henry já tem lugar no nosso top de leituras de 2026, por isso quisemos experimentar mais uma das suas obras, e esta parece a leitura perfeita para equilibrar toda a fantasia, ação e dor deste mês.

     🐎 Off to the Races da Elsie Silver *

Já ouvimos falar maravilhas desta autora e parece-nos a oportunidade perfeita para finalmente conhecer este mundo cheio de romance... e muitos cowboys.

Temos um feeling de que vamos adorar.

💛 Objetivos para agosto

Mais do que cumprir uma lista, queremos simplesmente aproveitar cada leitura. Se conseguirmos terminar tudo, fantástico!

No final do dia, ler continua a ser sobre aproveitar a viagem e descobrir histórias diferentes.
