July Wrap Up

Hi everyone! 💛

July has officially come to an end, and what a month it was! It brought heartbreaking goodbyes, a return to some of our favourite fictional worlds, and the beginning of several reads that will definitely be keeping us company throughout August.

Not everything went according to plan (does it ever?), but looking back, it was a fantastic reading month.

✅ Finished Books

🗡️ The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Without a doubt, the biggest surprise of the month! We already knew Sam's fate before opening the very first page... and yet nothing could have prepared us for the emotional impact this book had on us.

Each novella added another layer to Celaena's character and helped us understand so many of her actions throughout Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight. By the end, we were completely heartbroken... and even more in love with this incredible world.

Easily one of our favourite books of the year. 🩷

🌊 The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han

It was finally time to revisit the book that inspired one of our favourite summer stories.

Light, nostalgic and incredibly easy to read, it turned out to be the perfect companion for these warm summer days. ☀️

🔥 Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins (Bia)

I finally started Haymitch's story, and I'm absolutely loving it.

I'm only halfway through, but I can already understand why so many readers consider this one of Suzanne Collins' best books.

🔥 Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins (André)

André is finally continuing his journey through Panem!

He's currently reading what I personally consider the most intense installment of the original trilogy, and I can't wait to hear all of his thoughts.

🧪 The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood

We also started this one together.

We're still at the beginning, but we've already fallen in love with Ali Hazelwood's humour and the chemistry between the characters. So far, it feels like exactly the kind of light-hearted romance we needed.

📚 Rolling Over Into August

Not everything from our July TBR got crossed off the list.

The Mistake by Elle Kennedy never made it off our bookshelf, so it's officially moving into our August TBR alongside the books we're currently reading.

Olá, pessoal! 💛

Julho chegou ao fim e foi um mês cheio de emoções. Houve despedidas dolorosas, regressos a mundos que adoramos e o início de algumas leituras que prometem ocupar grande parte de agosto.

Nem tudo correu exatamente como tínhamos planeado (quem nunca?), mas, olhando para trás, foi um excelente mês de leitura.

🗡️ A Lâmina da Assassina da Sarah J. Maas ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sem dúvida, a maior surpresa do mês! Já conhecíamos o destino do Sam antes mesmo de abrir este livro... e ainda assim não estávamos minimamente preparados para tudo aquilo que sentimos.

Cada história acrescentou uma nova camada à Celaena e ajudou-nos a compreender muitas das suas atitudes em Trono de Vidro e Coroa da Meia-Noite. No final, terminámos completamente devastados... e ainda mais apaixonados por este universo.

Sem dúvida uma das melhores leituras do ano!🩷

Foi finalmente a altura de reler o livro que deu origem a uma das nossas histórias de verão favoritas.

Comecei finalmente a história do Haymitch e estou completamente rendida.

Ainda vou a meio da leitura, mas já consigo perceber porque é que tanta gente considera este um dos melhores livros da Suzanne Collins.

🔥 Em Chamas da Suzanne Collins (André)

O André continua finalmente a sua viagem por Panem!

Está a ler o que na minha opinião é uma das histórias mais intensas da trilogia.

🧪 A Hipótese do Amor da Ali Hazelwood

Começámos também esta leitura em conjunto.

Ainda estamos no início, mas já estamos completamente rendidos ao humor da Ali Hazelwood e à dinâmica entre as personagens. Parece-nos ser exatamente o tipo de romance leve que estávamos a precisar.

📚 O que transita para agosto

Nem tudo o que estava na nossa TBR conseguiu ser lido.

O Erro da Elle Kennedy, acabou por não sair da estante e vai acompanhar-nos durante agosto, juntamente com as leituras que ficaram a meio.
