Our October Hopefuls

(English)

Hello again, dear followers! Happy Wednesday everybody! 🤗

October is officially here, which means autumn is in full swing, Halloween is getting closer and, naturally, we have a few books we’re hoping to read this month!

We’re calling these our October Hopefuls, rather than a TBR, because, let’s be honest, we’ve learned not to make promises we might not be able to keep. 😂

We’re bringing two books with us from September: Beach Read by Emily Henry and Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas. We started both last month, but didn’t quite manage to finish them, so October is giving us another chance to make some more progress.

We’re also hoping to pick up The Bodyguard by Katherine Center, which has been sitting on our TBR waiting for its turn. Since the movie premiers in November, we are hoping to finish it before we watch the movie… although, to be honest, we are not very confident that the movie will in fact premier on that day. There is not a lot of information available online, so it might even not be released so soon.

And then there’s the wildcard…

🕯️ Our October thriller/spooky read

We decided to let our followers choose our October thriller/spooky book through an Instagram poll, so that everyone could have an opinion on what to prioritize.

The options were Cackle by Rachel Harrison, Home Before Dark by Riley Sager, Missing by Kelley Armstrong and The Only One Left by Riley Sager.

And you guys picked… 🥁

🏚️ Home Before Dark by Riley Sager

A creepy old house, a mysterious family history and plenty of questions about what really happened years ago. 🏚️👀 With a plot that feels pretty close to the same experiences lived by the Lutz family in the Amityville house, this feels exactly like the kind of atmospheric thriller we want to pick up on a dark autumn evening.

Hopefully, by the end of the month, we’ll have made it through all of these. But for now… they’re just hopefuls. 🍂☕📖

What are you hoping to read this October? What book would you recommend to anyone as your must for this month?

Olá novamente, queridos seguidores! Feliz quarta-feira para todos! 🤗

As opções eram Cackle da Rachel Harrison, Home Before Dark do Riley Sager, Missing da Kelley Armstrong, e The Only One Left do Riley Sager.

E vocês escolheram… 🥁

🏠 Home Before Dark do Riley Sager
