Reading the ACOTAR series for the first time

    Hi lovely readers! 😊 Bia here! How have you been? Around here, we have been very, veeeeeery cold! 🥶❄️ (Seriously, even inside the house, you can't seem to keep your fingers from freezing! 😶⛄)

    Today we bring a bit of a different post. As some of you might know from one previous post's photo, curiosity finally caught us last year... If you have scrolled through pinterest, instagram, youtube and so on, when you are looking at recommendations for books, it is almost impossible to have not stumble upon Sarah J. Maas series, A Court of Thorns and Roses, more commonly known as the ACOTAR series.

    The series so far consists of A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR), A Court of Mist and Fury (ACOMAF), A Court of Wings and Ruin (ACOWAR), A Court of Frost and Starlight (ACOFAS) and A Court of Silver and Flames (ACORSAF).

    On 2022, we decided to purchase the first 4 books online on WOOK and they arrived in just a couple of days. Since we were determined to finish the Vampire Academy series (and we have to share one copy of each book between the two), the ACOTAR series got pushed back until I picked up the first book in December, while André was finishing Last Sacrifice (check our reviews on the Vampire Academy books by clicking here).

    André has since picked the first book too, while I am on the second and so far so good 😌. We are having fun with the series 🤗. Sometimes, we can get into these more popular books with a bit of a thought of "Mmmhhh, I am probably not gonna like it as much as other people". That is a dreadful thought, but then we thought that even though we got to know these books through others influence, the ultimate decision to buy them was ours and we are very strict with buying only books that we think we will enjoy 😤☝🏻.

    So far so good and we love the world building and the aesthetic even though we have only seen the tip of the iceberg. Can't wait to see what follows!

     Hoje trazemos-vos um post um pouco diferente. Se calhar alguns de vocês já sabem através de um post anterior que o bichinho da curiosidade nos apanhou no ano passado... Se têm hábito de explorar o pinterest, instagram, youtube e por aí fora, aquando da procura de recomendações de livros, é quase impossível não se terem deparado com a saga da Sarah J. Maas, Corte de Espinhos e Rosas, mais conhecida em inglês como ACOTAR.

    Esta saga consiste em Corte de Espinhos e Rosas (ACOTAR), Corte de Névoa e Fúria (ACOMAF), Corte de Asas e Ruínas (ACOWAR), A Court of Frost and Starlight (ACOFAS) e A Court of Silver and Flames (ACORSAF).

    Em 2022, decidimos comprar os primeiros 4 livros online na WOOK e foram entregues numa questão de dias. Uma vez que estávamos focados em terminar a saga Academia de Vampiros (e temos de partilhar uma cópia de cada livro entre os dois), a saga ACOTAR foi empurrada para o fim da fila, até eu pegar no primeiro livro em dezembro, enquanto o André estava a terminar o Last Sacrifice (espreitem as nossas reviews da saga Academia de Vampiros aqui).

     Desde aí, o André também já pegou no primeiro livro, eu estou no segundo e por agora estamos a adorar 😊. Estamos a divertir-nos com a saga 🤗. Às vezes podemos atirar-nos a estes livros mais populares com uma mentalidade de "Mmmmhhh, provavelmente não vou gostar tanto disto como as outras pessoas". É um pensamento desanimador, mas depois tentamo-nos focar no facto de que ainda que tenhamos descoberto estes livros pela influência de outros, a decisão final de os comprar é nossa e a verdade é que somos muito cuidadosos ao comprar livros, porque só compramos algo que temos bastante certeza que vamos gostar 😤☝🏻.

    Por agora estamos a gostar e adoramos a arquitetura deste universo, bem como a estética do mesmo ainda que só tenhamos explorado a ponta do iceberg. Estamos desejosos para ver o que se segue!
