How much have you been reading?

    Let's start by being honest and admit that we haven't been reading as much as we would like to.... The truth is that even after a busy day, we usually comment to each other that we will read a little bit before going to bed. Sometimes we even set up snacks and music or asmr to read and.... we end up showing reels to each other hahaha 😅🤷🏻‍♀️. A real mess as you can see, but if we had to estimate, right now we must be around 20-30 pages a week probably.

What have you been reading?

    Right now we're reading Sarah J. Maas' ACOTAR series, which we started as early as December and The Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard (Andre: A Court of  Wings and Ruin and Bia: King's Cage).

Best book you’ve read so far?

    It was probably A Court of Mist and Fury. We'll be releasing a review soon in which we talk more in depth about the book, but we can admit already that it was definitely a very welcome improvement after reading A Court of Thorns and Roses 😌🙏🏻.

Best sequel you’ve read so far?

    It really has to be A Court of Mist and Fury. Sorry if it's a cliché answer, but it's true, since ACOTAR was the only series we started this year 😅💁🏻‍♀️.

Biggest disappointment so far?

    Hmm...this is a tricky one, because none of the books we've read this years have disappointed us, but we can say that the one further down the list will probably be A Court of Thorns and Roses. It's not that the book is bad or anything! 👐🏻 We enjoyed reading it, but felt that the story is much slower in its development and that the events are much more basic than those of the books that follow.

New release you haven’t read yet but want to?

    Truth be told, we're not much into following new releases. We're more of stumbling upon books enough times until they catch our attention and decide "look, we should read this" 💁🏻‍♀️😅😂. That being the case, let's adapt the question slightly and say which book or books on our TBR we are most looking forward to reading:

A book that’s out of your comfort zone?

    So far we haven't read anything outside of the genres we're used to reading and we don't have anything on our TBR that differs too much from our usual reads, but who knows what the rest of the year holds?

Biggest surprise?

    We're feeling a bit repetitive hahaha, but it will have to be the ACOTAR series, especially A Court of Mist and Fury and A Court of Wings and Ruin. People's enthusiasm about these books seemed slightly suspicious and over the top, but the truth is they exceeded our expectations and we ended up having more fun while reading than what we expected 🤭.

New favourite author?

    We can stretch this question a bit since one of us just read Last Sacrifice from the Vampire Academy series in January, and include Richelle Mead on this list. Although the series has been published for ages, it wasn't until 2022 and 2023 that we read it from end to end and, being completely honest, Richelle Mead deserves more affection and appreciation, because she is a fantastic author and has created a wonderful and captivating urban fantasy world with timeless and incredible characters.

    Sarah J. Maas is also very close to having a permanent position in our favorites list, but we are saving our opinion for after we read the Throne of Glass series, because everyone seems to believe that even if you like ACOTAR, Throne of Glass, is her standout series and makes us fall in love with the universe she created. Let's wait and see!

New favourite characters?

    It's another cliché, but we have to mention the Inner Circle from the Night Court 💁🏻‍♀️😌. It is simply impossible not to like the characters and not feel more connected to at least one of them.

A book that made you cry?

    Actually crying, hasn't happened while reading any of them. However, we have to admit that Feyre's panic scene in A Court of Mist and Fury feels like a knife in the heart. We can't explain further because we don't want to give away spoilers, but it's definitely a scene that moves us a lot.

    The Azriel's backstory is also very strong and leaves that little tear in the corner of your eye without a doubt 😥.

    Other example is Rhys' side of the story about the way he and Feyre met and their relationship until the moment he unravels his toughts.

Best book to movie/show adaptation?

    A few weeks ago we finally watched the adaptation of Stephen Chbosky's The Perks of Being A Wallflower and it was very worth it. The film is directed by the author himself and leaves us stuck from beginning to end with the problems and challenges of the main character, but with particular emphasis on his group of friends, since Charlie lives more watching others than taking care of himself, so we have an emphasis on his best friends and their stories.

Underrated gems you’ve read recently?

    Even though we read most of the series in 2022, we finished the last book in 2023 (or at least one of us did hehehe, but let's ignore that) the Vampire Academy series deserved to be more recognition in the literary community and it's a rarity to find bloggers and influencers discussing this series. But it's really worth it and maybe soon we'll be able to add its spin off Bloodlines to our TBR

Books to read by the end of the year?

    I think we are probably most excited to read the Throne of Glass series, because we are loving the Fae world, but a trilogy we are also excited to read is The Summer I Turned Pretty. And yes we know in theory we are very late to the party, but we are trying to enjoy the reads instead of reading in a rush hahaha.

                                                             Quanto é que têm andado a ler?

    Vamos começar por ser honestos e admitir que não andamos a ler tanto quanto gostaríamos... A verdade é que mesmo depois de um dia ocupado, costumamos comentar um com o outro que vamos ler um bocadinho antes de ir dormir. Às vezes até preparamos o snack e a música ou o asmr para ler e... acabamos a mostrar reels um ao outro hahaha 😅🤷🏻‍♀️. Uma autêntica desgraça como podem ver, mas se tivéssemos de estimar, neste momento devemos rondar as 20 a 30 páginas por semana provavelmente. 

O que têm andado a ler?

    Neste momento estamos a ler a saga ACOTAR da Sarah J. Maas, que começamos já em dezembro e a saga Rainha Vermelha da Victoria Aveyard (André: Corte de Asas e Ruína e Bia: A Jaula do Rei).

Melhor livro que já leram até agora?

    Provavelmente terá sido Corte de Névoa e Fúria. Em breve vamos lançar uma review em que falamos mais a fundo sobre o livro, mas podemos admitir já que foi sem dúvida uma melhoria muito bem vinda depois de ler Corte de Espinhos e Rosas 😌🙏🏻.

Melhor sequela que leram até agora?

    Tem mesmo de ser Corte de Névoa e Fúria. Desculpem se é um resposta cliché, mas é verdade visto que ACOTAR foi a única saga que começamos este ano 😅💁🏻‍♀️.

Maior desilusão até à data?

    Hmm...esta é complicada porque nenhum dos livros que lemos este anos nos desapontou por assim dizer mas podemos dizer que o fica mais abaixo na lista, será provavelmente o Corte de Espinhos e Rosas. Não é que o livro seja mau nem nada! 👐🏻 Gostamos de o ler mas sentimos que a história é muito mais lenta no seu desenvolvimento e que os acontecimentos são muito mais básicos do que os dos livros que se seguem.

Novo lançamento que ainda não leram mas querem ler?

    Verdade seja dita, não somos muito de acompanhar novos lançamentos. Somos mais de tropeçar nos livros vezes suficientes até chamar a nossa atenção e decidir "olha, devíamos ler isto" 💁🏻‍♀️😅😂. Sendo assim, vamos adaptar ligeiramente a pergunta e dizemos qual o livro ou livros da nossa TBR que estamos mais ansiosos por ler:

Um livro que está fora da vossa zona de conforto?

    Até agora ainda não lemos nenhum fora dos gêneros que estamos habituados a ler e não temos nada na TBR que fuja muito às nossas leituras habituais, mas quem sabe o que o resto do ano nos reserva?

A maior surpresa?

    Estamos a sentir-nos um pouco repetitivos hahaha, mas terá de ser a saga ACOTAR, especialmente Corte de Névoa e Fúria e Corte de de Asas e Ruína. O entusiasmo das pessoas sobre estes livros parecia ligeiramente suspeito e exagerado, mas a verdade é que superaram as nossas expectativas e acabamos a divertir-nos mais durante a leitura do que aquilo que esperávamos 🤭.

Novo autor favorito?

    Podemos esticar esta pergunta um bocado, uma vez que um de nós acabou de ler Last Sacrifice da saga Vampire Academy em janeiro e incluir a Richelle Mead nesta lista. Apesar de a saga estar publicada há séculos, só em 2022 e 2023 é que a lemos de fio a pavio e sendo completamente honestos, a Richelle Mead merecia mais carinho e apreciação, porque é uma autora fantástica e criou um mundo de fantasia urbana maravilhoso e cativante com personagens eternas e incríveis.

    A Sarah J. Maas também está muito perto de ter uma posição permanente na nossa lista de favoritos, mas estamos a guardar a nossa opinião para depois de lermos a saga Trono de Vidro, porque toda a gente parece acreditar que mesmo que alguém goste de ACOTAR, Trono de Vidro, é a saga de destaque dela e que nos faz apaixonar pelo universo que ela criou. Vamos esperar para ver!

Novas personagens favoritas?

    Voltamos a ser um cliché, mas temos de mencionar o Circulo Íntimo da Corte da Noite 💁🏻‍♀️😌. É simplesmente impossível não gostar das personagens e não nos sentirmos mais ligados a pelo menos um deles.

Um livro que nos fez chorar?

    Chorar a sério, não aconteceu a ler nenhum. No entanto, temos de admitir que a cena de pânico da Feyre em Corte de Névoa e Fúria é como uma faca no coração. Não podemos explicar melhor, porque não queremos dar spoilers, mas sem dúvida que é uma cena que mexe muito connosco.

    A história do Azriel em criança também é muito forte e deixa aquela lágrimazinha no canto do olho, sem dúvida 😥.

    Outro exemplo é o lado da história do Rhys acerca da forma como ele e a Feyre se conheceram e a relação deles até ao momento em que ele revela os seus pensamentos.

Melhor adaptação de livro para filme/série?

    Há umas semanas vimos finalmente a adaptação de As Vantagens de Ser Invisivel do Stephen Chbosky e valeu muito a pena. O filme é dirigido pelo próprio autor e deixa-nos presos do principio ao fim com os problemas e desafios do seu personagem principal, mas com destaque particular para o seu grupo de amigos, uma vez que o Charlie vive mais a observar os outros do que a cuidar de si mesmo, pelo que temos um enfâse nos seus melhores amigos e nas suas histórias. 

Livros subestimados que leram recentemente?

    Ainda que tenhamos lido a maior parte da saga em 2022, acabamos o último livro em 2023 (ou pelo menos um de nós acabou heheh,e mas vamos ignorar isso) a saga Vampire Academy merecia estar mais presente na comunidade literária e é uma raridade encontrar bloggers e influencers a discutir esta saga. Mas ela vale mesmo muito a pena e pode ser que em breve consigamos acrescentar o spin off Bloodlines à nossa TBR.

Livros a ler até ao final do ano?

    Acho que o que estamos provavelmente mais entusiasmados para ler será a saga Trono de Vidro porque estamos a adorar o mundo Fae mas uma trilogia que também estamos entusiasmados por ler é The Summer I Turned Pretty. E sim nós sabemos que na teoria estamos muito atrasados para a festa, mas estamos a tentar desfrutar das leituras em vez de fazer uma corrida hahaha.
