    This was the first Christie book we both read and we have to admit that we started with one of her best works.

    10 individuals who seem to have nothing in common receive an invitation from a Mr. Owen to visit his mansion on an secluded island. Despite the fact that none of the guests knows the host, they all respond to the invitation and turn up for dinner despite the absence of the person who invited them. Then one of the guests dies under strange circumstances and a little of the veil that lets us know what all these guests have in common begins to lift...

    The plot of this book features incredibly well-developed characters and an isolated environment that will increase your despair as you realise what dangers await our characters 👥.

☠ The Crooked House

    If you've ever seen the movie Knives Out, you're sure to love this lesser-known work by Christie that she was always careful to proclaim as one of her favourites ⭐.

    With the classic vintage look and old money vibe being perpetuated on every page, the story follows the Leonides family who lives in a marvellously rich mansion owned by an old millionaire. The whole family becomes suspicious when he is found dead even though there are favourites, like his young widow.

    It's up to Charles Hayward, our narrator, to find out if the initial suspicions are confirmed or if someone more dangerous is roaming the corridors of the old mansion.

☠ The Murder of Roger Ackroyd

    There's no escaping one of the most interesting cases of our unique Belgian detective. In a small, quiet village, King's Abbot, a woman suspected of killing her cruel husband commits suicide. Roger Ackroyd suspects that something else is going on. That the woman he was in love with has been blackmailed to the point of desperation and that the person responsible may still be at large and willing to do anything to cover his tracks. Even if it means killing! And Roger Ackroyd is on the trail!

    The village doctor, Dr. Sheppard, shares his suspicions and concerns with his neighbour, a retired detective who is none other than Hercule Poirot 🕵🏻.

Our narrator, Jerry Burton, takes refuge in this village with his sister Joanna to recover from a serious accident. However, their peace is immediately disturbed by the arrival of anonymous letters, some of which seem to reveal the population's darkest secrets and intrigues.
