🎃 Halloween Book Tag 🎃

    Halloween is finally here!🎃 How marvellous! Have you got your sweets ready to hand out to the children who come knocking? We've already got our pumpkin-shaped bucket filled! Let's hope it's not like last year when it rained cats and dogs and nobody could walk in the street. We did end up eating all the sweets 😂.

    While we wait for the evening, how about answering a tag? This time, we've taken inspiration from the Space & Sorcery blog to have a Halloween theme for this week's post!

    Are you ready?

1. Carving Pumpkins- What book would you carve up and light on fire?

    This is very violent hahaha, but we have to choose After by Anna Todd. If you don't want to shred the book to erase the cruelty of that ending... And it's not just the ending, it's the book in general. It provokes feelings of intense anger that leave you seeing red dots! You really can't choose another one!

2. Trick or Treat- Which character is a trick? Which character is a treat?  

    Cole St. Clair from Magge Stiefvater's The Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy is definitely a mischief-maker. That boy shows up to sow trouble with his bad boy attitude! And if Cole is the trick, our golden-eyed boy, Sam Roth, is the treat. Is there anyone sweeter than the protagonist of the trilogy? We don't think so!

3. Candy Corn- A book that is always sweet

    The book that's always sweet no matter when you read it is Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. Whether it's the book, the films... This story warms you up on the coldest day. The March family has a special touch that makes each of us feel welcome in the midst of their joys and problems. You feel like you're part of the group and that the little house will always be there for you!

4. Ghosts – What character would you love to visit you as a ghost?

    We just hope we don't cry with this one and many characters have crossed our minds, but the one who stands out because he deserves a visit from all of us, even if he is a ghost, is Marley from John Grogan's Marley & Me. Marley, the beautiful Labrador who is both the best and the worst dog in the world! Marley deserved to be the most spoilt ghost dog ever!

5. Dressing up in costume- What character would you want to be for a day?

    We'd like to be wizards like those in the Harry Potter series for a day! The worst thing would be to lose all our abilities at the end of the day. Could we handle the heartbreak? Or could we find a way to keep the magic... Who knows?

6. Wizards and witches – What is your favorite Harry Potter moment?

    Harry's first Christmas at Hogwarts! Who hasn't dreamt of living that day like Harry and waking up on Christmas morning in the warm Gryffindor dormitory and a pile of wonderful presents (don't miss the jumper knitted by Mrs Weasley) right at the foot of our bed? Then there's the marvellous feast! Perfection!⭐

7. Blood and gore – What book was so creepy that you had to take a break from it for awhile?

    Sharp Objects by Gillian Flyyn. This book is so surprising from start to finish that we really didn't expect it to become so violent. With one of the author's best plot twists, this book requires a strong stomach when we discover what is really happening in our protagonist's hometown.

    O Halloween chegou finalmente!🎃 Que maravilha! Já têm os doces preparados para entregar às crianças que vêm bater à porta? Nós já temos o nosso balde em forma de abóbora recheado! Esperemos que não seja como no anterior em que choveu a cântaros e ninguém pode andar na rua. Acabamos a comer os doces todos 😂.

    Enquanto esperamos pela noite, que tal responder a uma tag? Desta vez, inspiramo-nos no blog Space & Sorcery para termos um tema de Halloween no post da semana!

1. Esculpir abóboras - Que livro esculpirias e incendiavas?

    Isto é muito violento hahaha, mas temos de escolher After da Anna Todd. Se não quiserem retalhar o livro para apagar a crueldade daquele final... E não é só o final, é o livro em geral. Provoca sentimentos de raiva intensa que nos deixam a ver pontinhos vermelhos! Não dá mesmo para escolher outro!

2. Doçura ou Travessura- Que personagem é uma travessura? Que personagem é uma doçura?

    O Cole St. Clair da trilogia Os Lobos de Mercy Falls da Magge Stiefvater é definitivamente uma travessura. Aquele rapaz aparece para semear confusões com a sua atitude de bad boy! E se o Cole é a travessura, o nosso rapaz de olhos dourados, Sam Roth, é a doçura. Haverá alguém mais doce do que o protagonista da trilogia? Parece-nos que não!

3. "Candy Corn"- Um livro que é sempre doce.

    O livro que é sempre doce independentemente da altura em que o lemos, é Mulherzinhas da Louisa May Alcott. Seja o livro, os filmes... Esta história aquece a pessoa por dentro no dia mais frio. A família March tem um toque especial que faz com que qualquer um de nós se sinta bem vindo no meio das suas alegrias e dos seus problemas. Sentimos que somos parte do grupo e que a pequena casa estará sempre ali para nós!

4. Fantasmas - Que personagem gostarias que te visitasse como um fantasma?

    Só esperamos não chorar com esta e passaram-nos muitas personagens pela cabeça, mas aquela que fica marcada porque merecia uma visita de todos nós mesmo que fosse um fantasma, é o Marley de Marley & Eu do John Grogan. Marley o lindo labrador que é o melhor e ao mesmo tempo o pior cão do mundo! O Marley merecia ser o cão fantasma mais mimado de sempre!

5. Vestir o disfarce - Que personagem gostarias de ser por um dia?

    Gostávamos de ser feiticeiros como os da saga Harry Potter por um dia! O pior seria ter de perder todas as nossas capacidades no fim do dia. Será que conseguimos aguentar o desgosto? Ou poderíamos arranjar uma maneira de manter a magia... Quem sabe?

6. Feiticeiros e bruxas - Qual é o teu momento favorito de Harry Potter?

     O primeiro Natal do Harry em Hogwarts! Quem nunca sonhou viver aquele dia como o Harry e acordar na manhã de Natal no dormitório quentinho dos Gryffindor e uma pilha de presentes maravilhosos (não pode faltar a camisola tricotada pela Mrs. Weasley) mesmo aos pés da nossa cama? Depois ainda temos o maravilhoso banquete! Perfeição!⭐

7. Sangue e violência - Que livro foi tão arrepiante que tiveste de fazer uma pausa durante algum tempo?

    Objetos Cortantes da Gillian Flyyn. Este livro é tão surpreendente do início ao fim que não contávamos mesmo com a forma como ia tornar-se tão violento. Com um dos melhores plot twists da autora, este livro exige um estômago forte quando descobrimos o que realmente está a acontecer na cidade natal da nossa protagonista.

    Agora vão ter de nos desculpar, mas vamos ter de vos abandonar e começar a preparar a nossa lista de filmes para a nossa sessão de cinema🎬. Mas convidamos todos a responder a este tag!
